Message from Mitch's family, August 23, 2010

I would like to reach out to all of the Rochester faithful fans, coaches, players and staff who have expresssed their sadness of the passing of our son Mitch Caster early Monday morning. We are so grateful to the community of Rochester for embracing Mitch as one of your own. He had a wonderful experience as a Honker. My wife Susie and I, along with his sisters Melanie and Melissa, are truly blessed by the number of people he touched in one way or another. We have heavy hearts now but are thankful for all your prayers.

God bless you.

Dear Dan
I want to extend to you and all of the wonderful players and coaches you had this year; my heart felt, deepest sympathy in your time of mourning. These words don't give what I am feeling justice, but itis all that I am ableto put down to convey my feelings. Iwas privileged enoughto speak with you and your team in a professional manner on the field and got to know them pretty well. They conducted themselves in a respectful way aroundthe ballpark andit was a joy to work their games.
I was also able to talk withyou and the players in a lighter regard during the rain delays in Duluth. Theyare a fun-loving group ofguys that were confident, yet conducted themselves in a positive manner. While there, I had the privilege to speak with Mitch for a short period of time. Hewas and is a great young man!I will always remember his sheepish grin/smile. While on his way to coach first during the championship game, he told me "A little hot back there Kyle", Isaid yep all this darn gear. He replied "Going to have to drink a lot of water."Then he smiled his normallittle grin and walked on his way to first.
If you feel this should be shared withothers, you may do so. I wrote this as a way of dealing with the loss ofa terrific young man both on and off the field. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
God Bless the Caster family, the Rochester Honkers family, and all of those who were blessed to know Mitch.

We are the parents of an Eau Claire Express team member, who is also on the road back to school. We always hope that he is safe on the road and we wish the same for all the other great players from all the other teams throughout the country.
We found out about Mitch this evening and wanted to convey or condolences to his family and his baseball family. The loss of a great young man with so much going for him will be very tough for those around him. We wish his family well during these troubling times and also pray for them and a recovery from this tragedy.

Hello Kim and Dan,
Just found out about the tragic events that took place last night. Horrible news. All of us in the office want you to know that our prayers are with his family and you guys. Mitch was a heck of a kid that we got to meet for a short time while he was in St. Cloud. He was the young man that we took to the E.R. We had the opportunity to have some of his college teammates this summer as well. Great kids from that school. Anyway, I hope you guys are doing well and we will continue to pray for you. Take care.
